LAMQG Mini Quilt Swap

Well it has been far too long again! I have trying to spend less time on the computer and more time enjoying life. But I wanted to share the mini quilt I made for the LAMQG Mini Quilt swap. It measures 15" square. I have a full size version that I am starting to quilt today. I will share it when I am done. The pattern is from A Quilt is Nice Blogspot.

Blocks for the LAMQG Raffle Quilt!

The Los Angeles Modern Quilt guild is making 2 Raffle Quilts. One is to help our chapter become an official non-profit and The other will be going to The Kivu Sewing Workshop, a non-profit in the Eastern Congo that helps victims of sexual violence rebuild their lives and support themselves and their families with skills learned through the program.
Soon we will be selling raffle tickets!

I have fallen off the blogging wagon again and blocks for Lauren

I keep promising I am going to blog at least once a week, but then I was not getting any sewing done and feeling a little overwhelmed with life and so I just stop the blogging. But I have gotten my sewing area cleaned up and under a control, at least a little bit so I can actually sit and do some sewing this week, and every week I hope.

These are the blocks I have done for Lauren over at Uppity Mama. We are in the Los Angeles Modern Quilting Bee/Block Swap. She gave us such beautiful fabrics. I love the turquoise blues. Her theme was square peg/round hole. So we did blocks that had circles and log cabin type blocks.

How much do you pin?

How much do you pin? I pin and pin and pin some more when I am layering and basting a quilt to be quilted. You can see this from the picture above. Do I over pin? Can a quilt be over pinned?
I will show you the finished quilt in a day or two.

Abigail is turning 3!

Abigail is turning 3 very soon and I needed a special gift for her, so I whipped up this fun little crayon apron. It has 24 pockets to hold 24 crayons. I wish I had one of these when I was young. I still love to color with crayons!

Neptune Quilt!

I love this quilt made from Tula Pink Neptune fabrics. It uses one layer cake plus borders. You can't see the borders in this photo because the photos are really bad. I will try to get some better ones. I used the 4-Layer Cake Pattern from Legacy Patterns.  It is quilted with a watery look. It's on display at Tannerville if you want to check it out or just come by and say Hi to me. I have 2 Neptune Jelly Rolls so there will be more Neptune Quilts to come.

Capril Bonner-Thomas

My Best Friend Capril Bonner-Thomas passed away yesterday and I do not have the words to express how sad and lost I feel. I can recall so many incredible conversations, laughs that left our stomachs aching and her amazing ear that heard everything, even the things you did not speak. Capril made me a better person in so many ways. I will cherish our friendship forever.

Rest In Peace Capril Mae
I Love You!

Capril's Quilt

My good friend is in the Hospital and I am missing her so much. I have not been able to talk to or text or email with her for 2 weeks. It is making me crazy. I am sending her all the energy I can. I hope she is feeling it. Anyhow, I am making a quilt for all of her friends to sign so we can cover her with all our love and warmth. It will be finished in a day or two and I will post the finished pics.
